Douglas M. Campbell, M.D.
Knee Surgery, Joint Replacements, Hand & Foot Surgery and General Orthopaedics

Dr. Campbell received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and his M.A. from Western Michigan University studying injuries to birds. He graduated from Michigan State University School of Human Medicine and completed his internship, residency and chief residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in North Carolina. He joined Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1986 and has an interest in sports injuries, knee and hip problems, and general orthopaedics. He is a past president of the medical staff at Fletcher Allen Health Care and is the Vice President of the Vermont State Orthopaedic Society. He holds an appointment as an active staff member and Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at FAHC/University of Vermont.

Seth W. Frenzen , M.D.
Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery

Dr. Frenzen graduated with a B.A. from Brown University and received his medical degree from Brown Medical School.  He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency with the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at FAHC/University of Vermont.  He did a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.  He joined AOS in 2007.  His areas of expertise include hand, wrist and elbow surgery.

Andrew S. Kaplan, M.D.
Knee Surgery, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Joint Replacement, and Hand Surgery

Dr. Kaplan graduated with a B.A. from Yale University and an M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his internship in General Surgery and his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Campbell Clinic of the University of Tennessee. He holds an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Vermont and is on the Active Staff in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at FAHC. He joined Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1992.

John F. Lawlis III, M.D.
Shoulder and Sports Orthopaedics

Dr. Lawlis received his B.S. from Bucknell University and then received his M.S. from Boston College. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College and completed his internship in Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at George Washington University. After his residency, Dr. Lawlis joined the Department of Orthopaedics at The Cheshire Medical Center and Keene Clinic in New Hampshire. In 1992, Dr. Lawlis joined Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Vermont, and is on the Active Staff in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at FAHC. Dr. Lawlis performs procedures common to general orthopaedics, ranging from total hip and knee replacements to carpal tunnel release. His area of special interest is in disorders of the shoulder and knees. as well sports orthopaedics.

John C. Macy, M.D.
Shoulder and Elbow Surgery

Dr. Macy graduated with a B.S. from McGill University and received his medical degree from the UMDNJ/ New Jersey Medical School. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at FAHC/University of Vermont. He then trained as a National Institutes of Health post-doctoral fellow and completed his shoulder fellowship training with the Transcontinental Shoulder Fellowship in Boston and Zurich, Switzerland. He joined Associates in Orthopaedics in 2001. His area of expertise includes shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery.

Rebecca C. Winokur, M.D.
Primary Care Sports Medicine

Dr. Winokur graduated with a B.A. from Colby College and an M.A. from Boston University School of Medicine. After graduating from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, she completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at FAHC. Following her residency, Dr. Winokur completed her fellowship in Sports Medicine at Maine Medical Center. She joined Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2004 and holds an appointment with the Department of Family Medicine as Associate Clinical Professor at FAHC/University of Vermont. Her area of expertise is in the non-surgical treatment of sports injuries in athletes of all levels and ages.
